DIRECTV Transponder Map ~ Data 12/24/2024 [A Day Early]

I’m not sure if it’s just one of the many caveats DirecTV has with their mobile app, but I can’t stream some shows on Ion Television 305 sometimes. I just get this error message. Could it be because Ion doesn’t have streaming rights for some shows? As of this writing they’re airing Chicago P.D.

It looks like Ion is still in home streaming only, however there is a glitch where if it's the last channel you watched, the stream will load out of home, but won't let you tune back if you change to something else.

They don’t even offer the local stations for streaming on the app. Like I can’t stream WQPX and when I was in Williamsburg (Norfolk DMA) I couldn’t stream WPXV.

They should just give up that guide and switch to a version of the guide the web version of DirecTV Stream has. Kind of like what they did with their mobile apps a year ago.
It looks like they’ve listened to me, I tried searching “ESPN HD DirecTV” and clicked on the first result which would have brought up the DirecTV.com/guide channel page for the ESPN channel, but instead it bought up a DirecTV login screen. So I logged in, and it took me to this! Your thoughts on this, KyL416?
Already found one problem, it freezes when you click on Filter or Sort! Might be just an iPhone issue though.
Now if only someone could check if the server providing channel logos for what appears to be the OLD online guide is still up, as if it isn’t, then that would bring an end to updating the logoID_library we have here.

Your thoughts on this, @KyL416?
Like I guessed, it's now impossible to order a PPV online so it will appear on all of your receivers, or specify a different payment method for the PPV instead of billing it to your account. i.e. try looking for a way to order tonight's AEW Forbidden Door PPV. On the stream/guide page you get a result if you search, but no option to order, while on the main directv.com site no results at all.

It's also now impossible to set remote recordings for channels it doesn't list in the guide (i.e. PPV/Adult, Out of market sports, channels it incorrectly thinks you don't get, etc).

On the plus side, the VOD library seems to be in sync compared to what it was like when the unified app first launched. Like tonight's new episode of Raven's Home appeared at midnight ET on both satellite 1290 and the website. The poster based navigation where everything is in a random order instead of A-Z is still horrible though. Most of the VOD only channels in the 1800s and 1900s like Stingray Karaoke, Common Sense, Anime Network are still missing too.

Already found one problem, it freezes when you click on Filter or Sort! Might be just an iPhone issue though.
It's not just an iPhone issue, the site is a bloated mess on desktop too since the moment you visit the site, it loads and buffers the last live channel you streamed in the background (even if you turned off the live TV on launch option) and since it's DRM protected video, it's rendered via software by the DRM library instead of via hardware by your GPU.

It's also impossible to watch in home only channels or view VOD versions of your DVR library via the browser since it doesn't use the plugin the old site used to detect your receivers, and all current browsers prevent internet based pages from communicating with LAN IP addresses. (They really should come out with a native Windows/Xbox and MacOS app that gets around these limitations if they want their online presence to be streaming centric)

On a side note, with web access it was a lot easier to examine the API. I did discover through the thumbnail server that they DO have streams for the out of market national versions of YES and the Bally RSNs on the server but for whatever reason the API still only provides the localized in market feeds. There's also streams for other channels not currently available to stream like the 3 Stadium College Sports channels, MavTV, NHK World, FETV, Outdoor Channel and MLB Strike Zone, and the stream for AMC+'s Walking Dead Channel is still live even though it was dropped from satellite in February 2022. Also I got to see what the Padres and Strike Zone look like when there's nothing airing, along with what's currently showing on the REDS feed that almost had to go live a few months ago. EDIT: I also threw in the 2 channels that are currently internet/stream only.

So that means if I try to take a screenshot of the channel, it'll just be black. I know many streaming services do that.
Also, that Reds test pattern "Main Sync Gen COMCAST". I don't think Comcast services Cincinnati, It's Spectrum territory there as well as locally owned Cincinnati Bell.

The feed says Comcast because MLB is probably using Comcast Technology Solutions to distribute the feeds.

EDIT: This is what it looked like when it first went up in April until last Tuesday when it switched to the test pattern:

It also doesn't look like they have their own font for the program titles in the guide, it just substitutes the OS font in place.

Thumbnails of the 4K Channels, notice the washed out colors because the thumbnail server can't handle HDR.

EDIT: Added seperate images for the slates and updated the LIVE4K image to be from the live game instead of the rain delay filler from 2021
EDIT2: Added a shot of FS1HD at almost the same time as LIVE4K so you can see the difference

314/86 VALU might be going away tomorrow to prep for Family Movie Classics going live. It's the only infomercial channel in the guide that still has generic Paid Programming listings starting Monday at 6am ET, and usually the following week's programs are filled in by Thursday evening.

The full payment that the bankruptcy judge ordered them to pay is due by July 1st, so far word is they only paid the Rangers and they will likely pay the Guardians, but the Twins are still in question.

In addition to the Padres and most likely Diamondbacks, they also shed the Raycom contract, so the Bally RSNs won't be showing their syndicated college football and basketball games next season.
