I read the manual for the D11 receiver and it states that the S-Composite video is for best quality, then the rca cable for the next best quality and then the rf coaxial for the poorest quality connectors to other devices and tv.
My question is, why does it matter if there is a coaxial cable bringing in the satellite connection to the first device in the chain anyhows? Doesn't that already degrade the signal from the get go, so I would think you might as well use coax on everything. I also noticed that Wal-Mart uses coaxial cables to hook up all their HD widescreens at their store and all their picture looks like total crap.
I just wondered if maybe the degredation didn't happen until the signal was processed at the receiver.
If thats true, then I guess I need to know if dvd players and other standalone dvdburner types have multiple in and out S-composites. I do have a device with multiple in/out rca but I was thinking that if s-video was the best, why don't all the devices I have have multiple ins/outs to keep the signal sharp. I guess it may be that all my stuff if generic junk.
Well, I am hoping someone can please enlighten about these things. I would really be appreciative for any info you take the time to provide.
Thanks in advance
