Just went on-line to view my activity since my last bill and on my next bill, as of 1/20/10, the DVR is still $6.

Just realized I forgot to add the protection plan, but that is a wash anyway; plus I am going to be canceling that.

I'll post Next months too After both increases arrive.
My D* bill is expected to increase by $4
My E* bill is Expected to increase by $1 and in 6 months $4 more.

I agree with the question, "Why pay more for TV?" That is why I am still with Direct:

Total Choice Plus with HD service and DVR service in both rooms.

Total Choice Plus - $58
HD - $10
HD Extra - $5
DVR - $6
Additional Receiver - $5

Total: $84

With Dish I would need to go to the 250 channel package to get many of the same channels:

AT 250 - $63
HD - $10
DVR - $6
Extra one room HD DVR - $10

Total: $89
Is there some specific reason you're comfortable in comparing D*'s 200 package with E* 250 package?

Yeah...

Because, E's 250 channel package is about the same number of channels as D's 200, since Dish count out of market RSNs, which those out of the market cannot get, and the Dish music, to come up with 250.

And in order for me to get the same channels I am currently getting with my current package, I would have to go to the AT250. If I went to the AT200, these channels in my current Direct package would be missing (many of which I watch more than any other channel):

BIO
Chiller
Fox Reality
Sleuth

Bloomberg
CNBC
Boomerang
Nicktoons
Fox Movie Channel
Discovery Kids

In all Fairness you should compair Top 250 to Choice Ultimate, since they are more a like then Choice extra.
But if you want to compair a $63.99 Directv choice extra Vs a $62.99 Top 250 You go right ahead, I guess you like paying more for less channels.;)

Those two packages are more equivalent, I agree

Since I have the equivalence to Choice Plus, if I were to change providers and want to keep watching the same channels I am currently watching, I would have to get the 250. It is not my fault that Dish's 200 package has about 20 fewer channels that Direct's 210 package (4 of which I watch more often than just about any other channel)
