Even though they are stretching the truth by including PPVs and DNSs, they still give Dish credit for including their part time RSNs and VODs. Too bad Direct doesn't use the same (much more ridiculous) counting strategy. If they did, they will be able to claim over 200 HD channels.

Ironically, when I go to Direct's website to view the HD section, the music from Dish networks Turbo HD add immediately comes into my head. Dish sure did a good job with this particular advertisement.

I don't know why they have to include HD PPV channels toward overall HD channels. This is very misleading for people who are new to the technology. Sure, HD PPV is a channel, but its not really when you think about it. When people think of channels they think of it being as something they can tune into and watch something without any obstacles such as paying $4.99 for a movie. If the movies were free, it would be different of course, but we all know thats not a possibility.

I don't count any PPV or the RSNs outside the one I get here as part of the HD package.

Dish and D*'s counting has gotten ridiculous and we all know it. We should just be glad we dont have cable in some areas enjoying like 20 nationals

You are absolutely correct ... my cable company just added 4 HD to take them to 13! As for D* and E* the only channel I am really missing is Fox News and will love ESPN-U when it launches. I have E* and very happy and my wife wants E! Entertainment when it comes out. Anything else is just fluff.
