DIRECTV Statement on Citadel Broadcasting Dispute in Iowa

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Mar 24, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- DIRECTV released the following statement today from Derek Chang, executive vice president of Programming for DIRECTV:

"DIRECTV's contract with the Citadel-owned ABC station in Des Moines, Iowa, and the CBS station in Davenport, Iowa, is expiring on March 31. We have been negotiating in good faith to try and reach a resolution and will continue to do so. If an agreement is not reached by the deadline, we intend to continue to provide the stations as we have for many years, unless Citadel demands that we take them away from our customers. If the stations come down after the deadline, make no mistake, it will be solely and completely the station owner's (Citadel's) decision to take the channels away from our customers."

DIRECTV Statement on Citadel Broadcasting Dispute in Nebraska

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Mar 24, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- DIRECTV released the following statement today from Derek Chang, executive vice president of Programming for DIRECTV:

"DIRECTV's contract with the Citadel-owned ABC station in Lincoln, Neb., is expiring on March 31. We have been negotiating in good faith to try and reach a resolution and will continue to do so. If an agreement is not reached by the deadline, we intend to continue to provide the station as we have for many years, unless Citadel demands that we take it away from our customers. If the station comes down after the deadline, customers can tune to an alternative ABC station - KHGI, channel 13 - but make no mistake, it will be solely and completely the station owner's (Citadel's) decision to take the station away from our customers."

Does this mean that Direct will turn on the DNS feed of these networks for the people in these markets, if they do not come to an agreement?

It still is not there.

Free previews are not front page news, especially ones that havent even started yet...

Thats like us talking about what Microbeta is going to have for breakfast tomorrow.

DIRECTV's official statements are still not posted over there.

Scott, perhaps that's because their statement is an absurd piece of drivel.

Next time DirecTV raises their prices perhaps we should all say no and expect them to continue to deliver their service until a new contract can be negotiated?

Making statements like the one DirecTV made are not the basis for good-faith negotiation....they are ranting of a child.

That link is to the thread where it's been discussed since 11:30 this morning, including the link to DirecTV's press release, or is that not official enough?
