DIRECTV Customers Are Eligible to Receive a Visa(R) Gift Card with
Subscription to STARZ!

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., April 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Starz Encore Group LLC (Starz),
the largest provider of premium movie services in the United States, and
DIRECTV, Inc., the nation's leading digital multichannel television service
provider, today announced plans to launch the "STARZ! Summer of Gold" upgrade
campaign. The upgrade campaign features multi-faceted marketing tactics
including: cross channel, direct mail, telemarketing, web support and a TiVo
showcase.
Eligible customers who sign up for STARZ! with DIRECTV during the "STARZ!
Summer of Gold" campaign period, which runs from May 1 through June 30, are
able to receive a $20 Visa(R) gift card after two months of subscribing to
STARZ!.

The "STARZ! Summer of Gold" is a national campaign complementing the June
12 exclusive premium television premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean: The
Curse of the Black Pearl on STARZ!. In addition to DIRECTV's $20 Visa(R) gift
card offer, the campaign features the "STARZ! $1,000,000 Summer of Gold
Instant Win Game" and the "STARZ! Summer of Gold Sweepstakes."

publications of People, Entertainment Weekly, US Weekly, STAR, Premiere, Time,
Newsweek, Travel & Leisure, Good Housekeeping and Redbook on newsstands
starting May 11; at participating retail outlets from service provider
kiosks/booths or request a game piece by mail (STARZ! Summer of Gold Game
Piece Request, P.O. Box 6724, Stacy, MN 55078-6724) while supplies last.
Gently scratch off the gold area on your game piece to reveal the serial

I like Starz more than any other movie channels. However I'm probably going to drop it soon. I really want to get Starz Kids and Starz Family. Those are the ones I'd really like to have.

Would be nice if DirecTV would do what DISH has done and move the Encore channels to the extended basic package and increase the Starz offerings.

By the way does anyone else have Starz on Demand with your DVR. I signed up and it's active but despite the fact I clear my overnight recordings on the nights movies are scheduled I've only gotten 2 movies since I signed up. Plenty of room on the DVR (upgraded via Weaknees). With the schedule empty overnight and plenty of free space it still doesn't record them.

They may need to allow you to set priorities on the Demand movies if it's going to work.

Just curious if anyone else has noticed this or experienced it. No other problems with my DVR and other than slowness that everyone complains about it works wonderfully. GO TIVO
