directv signal problem

Was the problem happening when you looked at the signal strength?
If not, wait until it is, then look at the 119 again.. look for signal strengths that change (pretty dramatically, usually) while your looking at them.. usually they'll go from 94 to 45 (as an example) then back up again.. That's one sign of a bad LNB

Sorry guys but I was looking at satellite 101 when I got those transponder numbers... On satellite 119 the 25 - 32 transponders read 34,96,0,94,0,94,0 and 92. So #25 transponder reads 34.

If you have only a single receiver connected to the dish, and the problem only occurs on locals (from 119), then it's most likely an LNB issue. It could be the receiver but that's much less likely.

Since you are only getting 34 on transponder 25, where you should be getting something in the 90s, and you are getting 90s on other transponders, I don't see it being anything other than the lnb.

Those 119 signals don't make any sense. If you had a line of sight problem it would affect all the signals not just the ones on TP25.
I have to ask, are you actually in Little Rock are you somewhere else trying to get the Little Rock locals?

Good thinking texasbrit, that never occurred to me!

I notice we have not heard back from the OP.......

Finally back on. My internet provider Centurylink has been down over 24 hours....... Sorry raoul5788 but your message must have went to spam and I had so many that I deleted them. Usually I'll go through them but had to many....... Yes I live in Russellville and get my locals from Little Rock.

No problem chancey. Like I said earlier, if your signal strength on 119-25 is only 34, and other transponders are in the 90s, you likely have a bad lnb. I guess it could be a cabling issue, but I doubt it. BTW, check my tag line. :)

Thanks Chip and everybody else that helped to diagnose this problem... I'm going to call and get Directv out to fix it since it should be their dime..... I'll let you know how it comes out.

Since you have SD, get up near the dish and look inside the plastic cap that covers the LNB. If you see moisture in it there is the problem more than likely. Having the same LNB for 6 years getting beat by the elements always seem to act odd like that
Condensation would manifest when the temperature was coolest.

This sounds more like a receiver problem if it is linked to how long the TV has been on.
