Let me say this first - I am very happy with all of the new HD channels being offered and, honestly, there are enough for me right now. I can only watch so much television and nearly all the programs I watch are now in HD thanks to DirecTV.
However, DirecTv has been promoting this:
"...In October, you’ll have over 70 of your favorite channels in HD — and up to 100 by the end of the year..."
Currently I count 45 HD channels and they are promosing 7 more in October. That would total 52 by the end of October. Short of the 70.
By the end of the year they are promsing an additional 9 totaling 61. Well short of 100. Yes I know, it says 'up to 100', so they could conceivably stop rolling out HD and still be telling the truth.
Are there channels not listed here? How do potential customers feel if they see these inflated numbers? Is this all just marketing jargon?
Again, I don't really care since I've got all the HD I will need for now. Ok, it would be nice to have PBS in HD like I did with TWC, but I have many other substitutes.
