DIRECTV Launches Univision and TeleFutura in Crystal-Clear HD

I thought pretty much everyone gets Univision either on 402 or via a local channel.

Even though many people who frequent these forums may or may not watch very much Spanish programming, the ratings are probably better than most of the cable networks we have in HD.

For example, the evening news on Univision has consistently trended similar to Fox News' prime time ratings (tops among the cable news nets, and frequently top 5 among cable nets)

We get it here locally OTA, just like ION, as well. I didn't even know this channel was on 402.

yea but OTA is Univision HD West. DTV is East in HD

I wish their was a way we could watch it in English.
Seems kind of unfair that alot of English channels have SAP, but it doesn't seem like any spanish channels have audio in english.

I haven't checked the new HD channels but last i remembered, there was closed captioning in english on certain primetime soaps.

Being in LA without the Mas package, i only get 402. I hope they expand the HD Locals for us in time for World Cup. KMEX 34, KFTR 46, KVEA 52 & KAZA 54! I dont want to have to hang an antenna to get them OTA!

yea but OTA is Univision HD West. DTV is East in HD

If you miss a show, you can watch it 3 hours later on 34-1.

We have 9 locals in HD (11 counting RSNs) through Direct.

TeleFutura is in the DirecTV Más package.

It was confirmed that TeleFutura is on 119w and for that you would need the 5 LNB dish. Also a bunch of other TEST channels were seen. What they are is unknown.

Channel 34 KMEX is the local broadcast of Univision. OTA it is in HD.

Actually, just about all of those channels are in HD OTA.
