DirecTv HR21 pro manual

Does anyone have link to a good spec document for the HR21 pro? I'm a Dish Network customer who is about to jump ship because of the Fox/Charlie dispute and I'm looking for detailed information on the receiver that I may be purchasing.

Because they figure it is easier for the visitor to use the very expensive search function (using the obscure word "manual") than to design the website logically.

Why do you want to pay for the HR21 pro? It is still a slow receiver. Even though it would be leased, you would be much better off with an HR24 in almost any situation.

The only advantage to the HR21P is owned status, the long-range HDMI transmission thing (expensive) and better cooling with rack mout capability.

HR21 pro is also cheaper then purchasing a new hddvr ( owned price ) from Directv where who know what he will get.


Little known fact if you want to "own" equipment as a new customer you can get it cheaper by calling us up and the normal free hddvr will equal 199 off the purchase price of a hddvr so instead of 499 you get it for 299, but hr21pro still a better deal if you back and watch newegg

my hr21 pro works like a gem. and after seeing all the hr24 refurbs in my bud's dtv truck, i'll stick with what i have.

say a box comes off the line and it has to be put though test if the test fail and the fix what ever part on the box is bad they have to label it as a refurb. Even though tit never been in customer hands


Also some people feel that all dtv boxes that come in brown box are refurbs which is not true .

Stonecold, I have an HR21P that has gone bad (bad HDMI signal). I have tested with mutiple TV's/cables/an HR22 etc... and can confirm it is the HDMI output. What to do? I bought the unit but it is showing up as leased in my account. Before I got cut off with tech support (I think a bad VOIP connection) I was told to ignore that it showed as leased since I likely owned it (which I must since I bought it for a pile of money several years ago). I actually have a rack mount situation but I could shelve the unit like my HR22. Do you recommend going with the HR24 instead of the HR21P? I think I would have to go out and buy an HR21P since DirecTv said they would not guarantee a particualr model. They said a service call would have to verify the box was bad and I could trade-in my HR21P for whatever the guy who comes out has on the truck. What would you do? I do not use the longhaul HDMI cable thingy or the ViiV stuff on the HR21P so is it best to just go with the HR24 and have DirecTv pay for it? It seems as if they are willing to do that and I do not think I care if I won or lease since I have been with Drect for a Looooooonnnnngggg time and am not going anywhere.
