Dear Steve,

Thanks for taking the time to write us and let us know your concerns
about your DIRECTV programming costs. You are important to us and we
certainly want to keep you as a customer. A service specialist will call
you in the next few days to discuss what we can do to meet your needs.

I apologize that our previous response did not properly address your
concerns. We understand your desire for more HD programming on DIRECTV,
and we are working hard to deliver. There are several developments
regarding HD programming on DIRECTV that I would like to tell you about.

We recently announced plans to carry Bravo HD. Although we haven't
announced the date that this channel will launch, we expect it to be
during the month of September. Bravo HD will be a part of our HD
Package, so you don't have to do anything - Bravo HD will be added to
your package automatically when we begin carrying it.

DIRECTV doesn't have an agreement with TNT HD at this time but we are in
discussions with them and we hope to add TNT HD to our lineup soon. I
don't have a date to give you yet, but stay tuned to DIRECTV.com/HDTV
for the latest news and announcements as they become available.

We expect to add the national feeds of NBC HD shortly after the end of
the Olympics. We'll be including more information in your onscreen guide
near your current HD channels (channels 70-99) as we get closer to the
date that they become available.

Thank you for your patience, and for giving us the chance to respond to
your concerns.

Sincerely,

Alan

What they say and what they do are two different elements. It'll be interesting to see how long those channels are being broadcast before they actually tell us they're available.

I still think the FCC should allow everyone who wants to pay for it the national broadcast HD channels. I won't be able to get NBC-HD off of Directv after the Olympics are over since I'm not in an O&O market.
