The Directv app just did an update for the tv everywhere. Checking it out now on the iPad.
I'm at home now. Can someone confirm that this works outside of your home network.
If so, very cool!
No update for the iPhone yet.

Doesnt look like any live tv yet, just sort of video on demand type things. At least according to the net, I dont have my pad on me at the moment.

It has a live streaming tab, just not sure if you can get it outside your home.

Probably be a while as some companies have their head in the sand when it comes to what a majority of the users have for devices out in the wild.

From my testing today, you can watch certain on-demand content - if subscribed to the network of course (HBO, Max, Starz, Encore, Sony Movie, and Audience Network). It is pretty limited, much like the on-demand on Directv. It is NOT anywhere near the content of HBO-GO.

There is also several pay-per-view movies available. $5.99 to stream a movie on the ipad is a bit steep.

As far as I can tell, you can still NOT stream live channels if you are not on your local wifi network.

It is a step forward on the Directv Everywhere concept, but still a ways to go.

"Directv Everywhere" now has a site on directv.com for watching online:

It primarily seems to be a content directory to link users to external viewing sites. CNN takes you to CNN's site. HBO takes you to HBO-Go.

This content should be available from most any internet connection.
