A la carte would be much more expensive for most people then what we pay now.

other than VH1 Classic I dont watch any of the others so no loss to me if they are dropped

DIRECTV has just sent this memo out to their retailers.

DIRECTV in Negotiations with Viacom

DIRECTV is currently in talks with Viacom, negotiating a fair price to pay for their channels. Currently, Viacom is demanding that DIRECTV customers pay nearly 30% more for the same channels they receive today, which simply isn’t fair. If we don’t reach an agreement with Viacom, their channels may be suspended from the DIRECTV line-up. The earliest channel suspension could occur is July 10th, when our contract expires. However, customers are not going to lose Viacom channels like Nick, MTV, and Comedy Central unless Viacom chooses to take them away.

We appreciate your understanding, patience and support as we continue to negotiate on everyone’s behalf.

If it was just me, knowing there is always a middle ground, I'd not want my channels taken down for an increase, because while they are still up and we are still talking, Im still making money off them and your subscribers.

If this was Dish, then expect the channels to be dropped at Midnight. Directv on the other hand I have full faith in getting this resolved.

Comedy Central and Nik would suck a bit but in the end I really don't care much. Any money saved will go directly to share holders anyway. Not employees or subscribers and while its nice to think that removal of these stations would reduce costs and lower our bills that is wishful thinking. Bill will be rising regardless. I am glad Directv is at least trying to get the cost down some although I doubt it will in any way change the increase in February 2013.

Funniest video ever! Viacom/TNA Wrestling had Hulk Hogan come in and record a video. it's too funny



TNA is having all their wrestlers on twitter send out tweets saying DirecTV is dropping Spike. Karen Jarrett wife of the the founder of TNA is the only one of them to retweet DirecTV's twitter message saying they are not dropping the channels and want to keep them on. Also is MTV having Snooki for her show send out tweets, and MTV's Awkward having their cast members send out tweets. But one of the main cast members for Awkward dosent't get it. Brett Davern on twitter

Last year the CEO of Viacom took home $43.1 million guess its not enough because now he want's more and he is willing to kill off Spongebob and DOra from DIRECTV customers to get his way!

Viacom just blocked me from posting now guess they dont want everyone to know the truth
