Directv dish ground installation questions...

I have a camper that I'd like to install a Directv slimline dish permanently in the ground next to it. I have the slimline dish and the SWM power unit. Where is the best place to get a "pole" to install it on? I know I need 2" diameter. Also, what tricks are there as far as concreting in the ground? What should the height be for the dish? Thanks for any help....

I would check a Muffler or a Fence company.

Make sure you get 2" OD.

I usually bury about 24-30" worth make sure it's plumb and supported and use the concrete from there.

Also, drill a hole in the bottom of the post and stick a bolt thru it or something like that, then when the concrete sets, it will keep it from turning.

As far as how High, thats up to you.

You can put a bolt through it, or flatten the end, whatever to keep it from spinning in the concrete. As to how deep, it should be as deep as the frost line in your area.

Thanks, do you think I can tune in the signal enough using the directv onscreen menu that shows signal strength? I can look at the other directv dishes next to my camper to get a rough idea of angle and such...

The majority of the people that point dishes use the recvr signal strength meter, most don't have meters.
