If you are interested in your local sports at all, you should stay away from Dish. They might carry them in your area now, but I would check to see when contracts are up, as Dish has no problem at all dropping local RSN's, and leaving you with no way to watch your local sports teams.

If 24/7 RSNs and sports in general are a very big deal to you as it seems, then staying with D* is most likely gonna make you happier.

Yes that's true for me now, as Dish now offers no RSN's, forget 24/7 HD, and that's why I switched to DirecTV. Whole Home DVR Service and the On-Demand offerings, are certainly a plus for DirecTV too.
