DIRECTV's twitter has been getting alot of talk about ppl saying not to drop it and DirecTV keeps saying "We continue to talk to Comcast about G4 but if an agreement is not reached we will be removing it on 11/1." DIRECTV (DIRECTV) on Twitter

Just got DirecTV and was first disappointed that there wasn't any G4HD and then even more disappointed that it was going to be gone on Monday. I just left Dish for many reasons but one being that FX was gone for 3 weeks and we were going to lose out FOX channel also.

This site has always been more dedicated towards E* and DBSTalk has always been more dedicated towards D*. That said this site has always been the better site for open and frank discussion about the pros and cons of both services. DBS is more dominated by lemmings who don't tolerate dissent.

Maybe Comcast could do to DirecTV what Fox did to Dish during their dispute. They could try pulling G4's sister channels if they can like E!, Style, Golf Channel, Versus (which was already pulled a while back), and Comcast SportsNet. I am sure that would really get some attention.

Difference is the channels that were pulled in the Fox Dish dispute were the actual channels in the dispute, the ones that had the contract expire. Unless these other channels you listed are part of the dispute, Comcast cannot pull them or they will be in breach of contract and be held civilly liable. IOW, they can't pull them just for the sake of pulling them

Out of the list you mentioned, I would miss any of them, not sure I even watch ANY of them outside of occasionally VS.

I've been reading what people are saying about the programing on G4. I've got to agree with the mass. I mainly watch it for the "Movies That Don't Suck". Anything else is something that catches my eye while channel surfing, yes I still do that and the wife can't stand it. As for those who loved Tech TV, I didn't really watch it, but I understand where you are coming from. Most things that I thought were good 10 years ago ended up being completely destroyed by some corporate involvement over the last decade. I still weep for WBCN and was probably one of the remaining 5 listeners during their final two year run. But I digress. I agree with the mass.

Even the good movies they run are so heavily edited (they use ABC Family 'edited for political correctness and morality' versions) that it sucks to watch them. I had high hopes for Effin Science, but turned off the first episode halfway through. Basically all they did was rip off stuff Mythbusters already did, but they found a way to make it suck to watch.

A few pictures are worth a thousand words. The first two are from my bud. The third one is from DirecTV. Yep it's gone on DirecTV. (DVB master on C band is still there as is the 4DTV feed on W5) I hope Direct throws the bits back at the other channels now. All free bits are good.

Never really watched it but I still can get it on the bud. Long live the almighty Bud Maybe I should start watching it Olivia is hot

Not really missing G4, Never really watched it anyhow as it wasnt in hd. Even when it was in HD, I never really watched it. Unlike FX over at dish, I dont see the masses pissed about this one, other than a few teenagers.
