Hi guys. I wanna add tv to the tailgate this year. I need a dish and all yet but I was told one thing. I can't run my receiver off a power inverter because it will short out. Generators are not allowed. Anyone have any insight. thanks.

First WELCOME! I know a few truckers that I am 99% sure run these off inverters and a few tailgater's I swear are as well.

I don't know how the new receivers (H20, D12) do with inverters, however, I have tailgated @ both NLCS & World Series in '03 as well as Homestead every year for Nextel Cup and without problem I have run a single receiver to either a small LCD TV or small CRT TV without problems. Just make sure to periodically start the engine so you don't drain the battery.

What about getting a DirecTV Sat-go box? I'm only familiar with the info Directv offers on their website, which isn't much, but it is supposed to be fully portable and available as of Spring 2007.
