What did they do to the D* App that use to work so well ?

I use to have an app that I could open that would allow me to choose a show to Record from my Smart Phone.

Now when I go to the same App (must have been updated) now it stinks.
You can't just bring up the shows by channel or time like you use to.

Now when I open the app it goes to Movies and Shows, but only gives you a few choices, I haven't found any way to get the guide back up to see if you can actually go to a show that you want to Record vs the ones they have listed.

Any ideas guys ...
Is there an new (old) App that does this anymore ?

Holy smoke! You are right! The new app (for Android) is totally different. But, after a few minutes, I think I can get used to this. It all pivots around the three bars in the upper left-hand corner. Press on that and you get a whole list of options. To get back to something we are used to, start with Guide. That takes you to the list of all your channels. (And there is a way to modify which list you want.)

This is about as much as I can fill in right now. I am discovering that I need to do some more fiddling to get an idea of how this works. (The first time I tapped on a channel I got a list of programs at different times. Now I am getting options like Watch, or Record. I don't know what I did differently.) The previous version was easier to use, but, I think I will like this one better once I get used to it. I have to admit, however, that it is not "intuitively obvious" as to how to use it.

The key is the Options tab in the upper left-hand corner. Start there and see what you can find out.

Thanks Bob !

Jimbo,
Again, I am just getting adjusted to this new app. While the old one was much easier for just pulling up the guide and letting you select programs to watch, this one goes way beyond that. I can now use my phone to change channels on any of the TVs in the house. (I may try this with the wife to see how much patience she has with me.)

I can also see programs on my phone. I'm really not into watching TV on my phone, but this new app makes that possible. It looks like they have wrapped all the things I read about "Genie Go" into this thing. I haven't tried to playback recordings on my phone, but it would not surprise me to see that that is there too.

Again, I think this is a great app for versatility. But, if all you want if for is to record programs on your receivers (which is all I really wanted), this just makes that a bit more difficult.

I miss the old iPhone app for that too. The new one you have to go through too many menus just to get to the guide to find out what you want to record.
