I just keep him as a friend. Then go to his profile page and look for new posts every day, with the find all posts by user button. I do the same with a few smart dudes at AVS.

I'm praying Sixto is right, cause I just called D* and they claimed they are done launching HD channels for this year.

His mappings of D10, D11 and D12 are always spot on. So when he sees Sony HD listed on channel 563 that means it's coming. Based on the channel number for Sony HD (563) it's definitively going in the HD Extra Pack.

I got this in my October 2010 email from Directv:

"Enjoy every soccer league and tournament at the highest HD resolution through Univision HD, Telefutura HD, Telemundo HD, and exclusive channels GOLTV HD and Fox Soccer Channel HD, all with a picture quality that is the same as Blu-ray™."

We have all of those in HD except for Telemundo HD. I wonder if Telemundo HD is coming too!

It was Tech Support.
Not like thats much better.

I also was told if I want the HR 24, To got to Best Buy, because the Intallers are saving the 24's for Swm installs only.
They are being told not to use them for other installs if possible.

But we all kind of figured that already.:)

They don't even know that Best Buy doesn't carry their receivers anymore? They should check in here once in a while to find out what's going on.

One would ask, if a Studio starts their own channel, why they would continue to give the movies to a competing channel like HBO, but who knows.

It all comes down to money. Playing them on their own channel doesn't earn them a dime. Leasing (not giving) them to other networks brings in big bucks. Fox has been doing a lot of that, leasing films to TCM, AMC and Cinemax for brief windows of availability then withdrawing them while they run them again on The Fox Movie Channel. Then they lease them out again. With older films, exclusivity isn't as important as with big newer films that networks pay millions for.

They make money by selling their channel to providers like D* and E* and cable companies. By running exclusives on their channel, they hope to boost ratings, which would lead to them charging ever higher fees to these carriers.

Exactly. By Epix locking down new movies from these 3 studios, that would have normally gone to another premium, you now need Premier and Epix to see them all.
