DirecTivo+Remote Signal Sender question

I am aware that the RCA Remote Control Signal Sender will allow me to change the channel on a "master" DBS receiver so as to send that channel to the remote location.
My question is....
Will i be able to control the DVR portion of my DirecTivo so as to remotely choose what to watch from the programs stored on the hard drive and watch them on the remote location?
