I just canceled dish today and am entitled to the dtv 200 dollar offer. I have to send them my last statement with the fee on it but I have paperless pay. I canceled today and can't get on my dish account, I guess they stopped that too, so what am I supposed to do? Any help would be appreciated.Thanks.

call dish and ask for a paper copy of yoru final bill with etf

I called today. They lost me when they told me that I would
have to pay $50 for an ota tuner module. That wipes out much of the reason to
switch. My old hv20 had a ota tuner, don't see why I should have to pay for o e
on a leased box.fwiw, dish gave me one for free and it works better
than the one in my h20, plus this dish box can record four programs off
the tuners!
sorry direct, you lost me again!

I called Directv several times today and each rep said they have no current promotion that remiburses Dish customers for early termination fees. Two said they've never had any such promotion (after checking with supervisors), and another said the promotion was for up to $100 and expired last month anyway. Was there a special number you called to get this promotion? Do you need a coupon, or do you simply send in your Dish bill showing the fee (and to what address?)

It is there and it generally a special number you call on the advert . The promotion is still active as far as I know .

As far as the 100 dollar card that prmotion ends on 2/8 as seen on directv.com

I was getting one in the mail about once a week, then decided to do it last Thursday. It was for up too 200 dollars.I think that deal ends 2-08-10 according to my paper. It was also a way to try and get me to return to DTV.

I was wondering if I changed or up graded to a higher package, would that start my commitment over or would that have any affect on it?

they will re new your contract for this:

new reciever added to the account
a reciever goes bad and you get a replacement
or you have OLD OLD recievers like RCA recievers and you cant get locals but with the new recivers you can, so you upgrade which is free... however you just re new your contract to 2 years once you sign the papers.

changing programming will not re new your contract.

THIS IS NOT CORRECT! If you replace defective equipment, your commitment is NOT extended! If you don't have the protection plan then you will likely pay $20 for shipping. If you upgrade equipment, then yes, you get a new commitment.

really? i had a bad D11 go bad and they sent me a new one.

my contract was to expire 2010 and i got this in 2009.... after i got the new reciever to replace my defective one, my contract was extended to 2011.

at every manager's meeting on tuesday, he said you have to have a lease form signed on any of these listed:

Upgrades, new installs, former installs if they are getting new boxes to replace the ones they have, and last, service calls that get a new box to replace it.

he said it out of own mouth, they are re-newing their contract when they do this.

i do however feel its totally unfair espeically when a box goes bad, its not the customer's fault for this and they didnt want to re-new their contract doing this... but it does happen.

im curious to see what stonecold says about this. maybe he can go on to my account and find out why mine got extended when i replaced my D11 after it puked

Can you give me the phone number and any promo code that was on your mailer? Maybe it's a different department than standard customer service.

I called "D"

as my brother did get a letter, after he had left them last summer. The CSR, validated the payment of the buyout.

I too am a Dish subscriber. However, I do not have a contract. They would offer me 2 am 21's gratis, as well as $100.00 for the extra HD DVR, which is an additional $100.00 savings. I am still pondering the offer, as I have some real reservations about the "D" hd receivers. A lot of negative consumer reports. I think I will wait till the TIVO HD reciever is available. Yes, I know I will be subject to what the installer has on his truck. However, as was mentioned on another post, I will get the phone # of the installer and see if I can't grease the wheels of progress.

By the way, the only reason I am considering this is because of the absence of the MLB network on Dish.

I don't care what your boss says, replacing DEFECTIVE equipment doesn't extent your commitment. PERIOD!

I recently replaced an old Sony SAT-A4 with a D11 with no contract extension. This may be a separate thing since this was what you guys refer to here as the "Legacy" upgrade since my old SAT-A4 wasn't able to receive the "700" series channels.

Correct! with the only 2 exceptions

1. Own equipment where the custome does not have protection plan and out of orginal warranty period

2. Where customer take a replacement upgrade like sd box to sd dvr or hd etc

legacy mpg upgrades are differnet again no contract ext on those but they fall under special circumstances.

Correct, I should have been more specific. Defective leased equipment replacement doesn't extend your commitment, unless the equipment is an upgrade, like SC said.

If I had to take a wild guess most accidental ext happen from someone not going into our order system and not doing a erp right.
