direct tv service near buffalo

I have a vacation property near Orlando and a home near Buffalo. I am thinking of subscribing to Direct TV at my place in Orlando. If I put up a dish at my home in Buffalo and buy and activate a DTV receiver will I receive service and more importantly, will I be able to view the "local" Orlando TV channels ie does the spot beam for Florida reach Upstate NY?

No, you will be way outside the spotbeam.....

no the Orlando locals wont reach Buffalo...spotbeams only cover a couple hundred miles max

And depending where in Canada you are, Buffalo locals may not work either
