i recently bought a slimline dish and noticed it has a small dent in the reflector surface, i.e. it's dented inward slightly on the reflector surface. Only reason i noticed it was I saw it on the back side of the dish where it's sticking up a little. It's pretty smal and is like a little dimple, not very deep, just a slight depression maybe a 1/4" or so in diameter.

:welcome to Satelliteguys!

A dented dish can loose a significant amount of signal. How much depends upon the dent. Yours may be fine.

If its from about the logo on the dish up it COULD cause issues if its below the logo it's fine. You could cut the bottom clean off and still work fine

thanx for the info guys. I went ahead and exchanged the reflector for another that's as it should be so i don't have to be thinking that the reason i can dial the dish in is because of the 'dimple' :D
