Digital Breakup on 101 C Band

I would say to put it on 99 or 103 put a power divider without DC to one side run that to a SATLOOK and see the signal as you slowly move across the arc
The only way I could help now is to offer a free repair of a satlook, providing the CRT is good and the back of it is not broke off letting in air, most common problem when one is dropped, so I do have some spares, plus I'm still able to use my brain to fix one.

Doing that will let you peak on the correct bird, what is the size of the dish you're using?

If it's under 10 feet it could be they switched out 99 or 103 with a new stronger bird, and if your dish has issues, or is too small, your getting killed by the side lob of the bird next to it, don't forget about the 2-degree spacing issue with smaller dishes

Saturday after travelling from one end of the arc to the other, then back to where 101 is set, then after scanning again,I got it back with all the channels. How long it will last is anyone's guess. Will post further within a few days.

Check for top bearing play
Leave the dish at 101 degrees, grab the bottom of the edge of the dish, and gently try and lift and see if you have play up, and down, if so, your top bearing is loose, most have a pin through a bolt you can remove and tighten it up and put back the pin.
This wears from the wind action on the dish, and not you moving it, 24/7 the wind is always putting stress on a BUD

Ok will look into that within the next couple of days. Have steady rain here right now. Suppost to be 2 days strait.
Will let you know how it goes when I get the chance. Thanks for the info.

When you said it came back by moving the dish, it sounds like a bearing issue there are two bearings in all C-Band dishes some are just a steel bolt some are much more they wear, and the dish starts to hang or sometimes your feedhorn could be loose make sure it's tight for sure you have a wear issue

I'm running a 7.5 dish also and do experience the same digital problems so I won't address that, enough people have chimed in about that. I will address the momentary freezing, go into your receiver audio settings and switch the audio setting to bitstream. I had this same problem on Anik and by switching the audio problem solved.

7.5 you need to focus the feed, to be dead center, and find the hot spot by going in or away from the reflector, it's down to signal to noise ratio, you laying in the noise
