Waylew, ZK and FK? I was sure that the UID was needed for FK. IRDS would receive ZK out of the box, but FK required subscription registration.
Will it pick up the DCII channels that go into free preview mode if it has lost its ID? If so id go ahead and pull the trigger on one in a heartbeat because they are starting to come way down in price.Don't worry about a dead battery/scrambled ID,just put a new battery in it.The only thing the ID was for was to get subscription channels, you can't subscribe to anything anymore so it doesn't matter.A 4D with a bad ID will still get the "free" channels just fine,as long as there is nothing else wrong with it.I know because I have one.It does need a god battery to work, bad ID or not.
hanks for the link, but that explained how to get the program to update the mappings, but what are the Mappings? IRDs? What does that mean?
Like a channel editor? Does this mean, as is, you cannot modify this stuff.. So, if a channel changes locations or frequencies, you need this mapping software to update it?

You can't just buy a BDM cable from someone who has used it , as it is linked/tied to the computer it was used on.

Well I really couldn't say for certain,I never bothered checking when a channel was working whether it was FK or ZK.I know the DMX and MC used to work and the Discoveries,HBOs and others would pop in on occasion.Haven't really had the interest in playing with the dishes lately to see what may be there.Too many things to do and a limited attention span anymore.Waylew, ZK and FK? I still have the email with the activation number,I'm thinking if I needed to use a different puter I'd just have to put the number in that one.But not positive as I've never tried it and it's been quite a while since I've done any Mapmastering.
It's not the mapmaster software, that's free to use,it's the chip in the USB interface that needs to be authorized. What software requires an authorization?

And to the best of my knowledge the only USB interface cable that works is the one made specifically for the 4DTV/Mapmaster program,USBBDM NT.
