Is there really any difference between using an LNBF and a Feedhorn and LNB assembly that are separated out? Does the LNBF have to still use a servo motor or is that part eliminated in the integrated feedhorn (LNBF)?

LNBF does not use a polorotor . Instead , the receiver changes from H & V by changing DC voltage going down the coax from 13 to 18 VDC .

This has the advantage of no mechanical parts to wear out . The polorotor has the advantage of being able to fine tune each sat for skew / polarity .

Almost all FTA digital receivers are made for a LNBF . Almost all older analog receivers are made for a LNB & polorotor . Some newer analog receivers will do either .
