Picked up a 2nd DTV Pal the other day and noticed the box says "DTV Pal Plus"...my original one is a DTV Pal only

what is the difference? Something minor like better remote (hope so) or something bigger like better tuner sensitivity?

neither do.

These arent the DVR ones...these are the 60 buck models

The DTVPal was bought when dishstore first started selling them. The + one I picked up at K-Mart the other day

huh...guess when you read the manual ya learn something ;)

they have a site dtvpal.com

the original (also called the TR40)
The TR-40 has great features to enhance your viewing experience:

Easy to connect
Analog pass-through
On-Screen program guide
Eligible for $40 off with government coupon
Comparable in size to a paperback novel
And more!

The DTVPal Plus
NEW! Enhanced digital tuner
Easy to connect
Analog pass-through
On-Screen program guide
Eligible for $40 off with government coupon
Comparable in size to a paperback novel
And more!

guess we'll have to check them both out. I live close enough that all channels come in fine

The Plus variety has a silicon tuner. Scott posted some results when they first came out. I don't remember the tuner impressing anybody compared to the can tuners in the original.

You also got a bit of a deal. IIRC, the TR-40CRA was indeed $40 plus tax and shipping. The original DTVPal (identical inside) was $60. The Plus was $70.
