DG-380 elevation setting clarification

Update - I think the FS bracket is different right-side up than upside-down. The clearance between the FS H bar and the motor housing seems to be greater and my custom fine adjustment mod holes do not match up so I have to drill a new hole.

It got dark before I could drill that new hole so I don't know if i'm tracking the arc better with the bracket right side up than when it was upside down.

I do know my motor latitude is set to 35 and a hair and my dish bracket reads 35 - I'm just trusting my SF-3000s signal meter over the FS dish bracket scale since in theory it should be around 30 for my location.

I'll update tomorrow if all goes well when I can get the hole drilled, install my fine adjustment, peak up elevation at due south sat, and then drive towards the ends to see if tracking is much improved.

I seem to be on the arc great - 90cm dish for an AMC-5 service gives me signal intensity 69, quality 74.

120cm on same signal is intensity 74, quality 79.

90cm is the one I"m working on and is 50 feet further away from my traxis than the 120cm, so I think I may be about as good as I get.

I'm going to do minor polar axis fine tuning tomorrow just to be sure, but I think I'm there.

Lesson - mount an FS dish on a motor with the proper bracket side up since it appears not to be symmetrical in the way it can be installed.
