Dexter - Season 8 (Final Season)

As a long time Dexter fans it's hard for me to say it outright sucked...but yes, it sucked. This was one of the most creative shows on television for years...and it felt like they ran out of time and money. This was almost as bad as the Seinfeld series finale.
Or the sopranos.

Found the correct threa :)

I could not believe the ending. It remind it me of six feet under. Too many open questions left without answers. Did anyone noticed that Harry dissapeared completly and Dexter was on his own. Does it mean that he was cured. I do not buy the scene of getting Deb's cadaver out of the hospital in public. It jus weird that the story teller could come up with something so idiotic as that. Was this the last kill that cured him? To be a fan of this show for 8 seasons and get a cheap finally like this sucks. I would have accepted he being caught and put in jail better than this ending.

Yeah, I noticed Harry was completely written out of the finale about half-way through. Heck, I would have been happier has Dexter simply killed himself when he disposed of Deb's body. And yes, he's not just going to walk out of the hospital with a body.

I was satisfied with the ending. Dexter explained why he decided not to follow his family to Argentina. Then showing up in a logging camp leaves the story line open to a sequel series. Had he died in the hurricane and his destroyed boat would have been a permanent closure, but they would have needed to show his drowned body, maybe partially shark eaten.

I agree about the hospital scene moving his sister out in plain sight. That was lame and unrealistic.

I was thinking the same thing except I thought the whole last season was bad. It didn't live up to the hype of all of the other seasons. Sad that the last season was one of the worst in the whole series.

I agree...this season was a dud; not exactly the razor-sharp, cutting-edge, psychopathic serial thriller that we have enjoyed for most of the past previous 7 seasons. C'est la vie!

I wasn't pleased with the finale, but it's impossible to wrap up a series like that and make everyone happy
...and it could have been a lot worse!!! ;)
.
Not every season had a major bad guy everyone enjoyed, but everyone associated with the show should be proud.
That was a long and successful run.
Few series do so well.
I will miss it ... and in a few years, maybe celebrate it with a marathon.
Darned few series are worth repeating.
