My guardian and feeder is a nice guy however his satellite operations send me into a fright. Every time he tries to peak his dish he uses the audible tones from the Coolsat receiver. He opens a window, sets a loudspeaker pointing outside where it is -20 on a good day cranks up the volume and sets the receiver on manual scan to get a weak transponder/channel and tries to get as high a frequency tone as possible while nudging the dish up, down, left and right. The problem for the feline community (and probably for neighbours as well in a non-rural location) is that the low tones drive us nuts and I have to run and seek shelter in the remotest part of the house and won't come out for half a day until I am sure that he has finished.
I note that he tries to diminish the pain by disconnecting one of the loudspeakers that is not pointing outside, but what can he do to transmit the tones to a pair of headphones outside so that he can do his thing in private without scaring the bejabbers out of me?
