What's the timeline for Des Moines, Iowa local HD channels?

I'd like them too, and they are on the Dish website as coming this summer (remember, the three months of summer just started last week), but until they are uplinked, no one will know for sure that they are uplinked. Until they are made available, no one will know that for sure either. We may get a heads up a week or so early, but that's about all we can realistically hope for.

I'm thirty-plus miles from the transmitters and pull them in fine with a homemade OTA antenna.

Hey thanks. I'm thirty miles away too. With rabbit ears they come in ok here with occasional ins and outs. WOI is the worst.

How do I know when they are uplinked?

discusses a really effective, cheap and easy to build antenna that can be used in an attic or outside that will beat your rabbit ears silly. Works very well for 5 and pulls 100s on 8 & 13 for me, plus gets all the other locals.
