I need some advice on why I cannot delete a Satellite Position on my combination AZbox / VboxIII / Uniden 9900 /Von Weise Actuator setup. I am using the dreaded DiseQc 1.2 setup for 33 current Satellites already scanned in. That is, when I had AMC 18 105.0W on C band I had trouble getting Tp V - 3920. So I deleted that Satellite which at that time was at VBox Position P27 on my Setup. When I try to rescan it in as a New Satellite the VBox and AZbox now decides to assign position P33 to the newly scanned in 105.0W. Unfortunately V Box III Position P33 is already assigned to Sat 137.0W??? I have tried deleting 105.0W 3 times now and every time I rescan it in it reverts back to the previously assigned Position P33. Instead of the next new position which is P34.

This is extremely frustrating because the AZbox & VBox III cannot move to 2 - P33 VBox III Positions!! But how do you fix this & why does a Deleted Satellite want to go back to a previously last assigned P33 position? I hope that to fix this I do Not have to do a Data Reset because that would undo 7 months of work. Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated.

When you save the satellite position again for AMC 18, manually select position 27 in the AzBox and press OK to save instead of leaving it on auto.

Thanks for the info pwrsurge. Not sure how to do this, I have the VBox III Manual & Remote Control - But how do you manually scroll thru or up to Position P 27? ie use Recall Button?

jsattv,

If you use the procedure outlined in the A-Z Guide and you use the THREE main programs (MaZEdit/AZEdit/ACC) you can select the DiSEqC 1.2 position for the NEW satellite using the AzEdit program.

This process is a bit ellusive and I am not certain if I can describe it well enough at this point to instruct you with a step by step procedure, but I think you can locate it on your own simply by navigating around in the AzEdit program and locating the panel on the LH side, near the bottom of the screen, where you can actually TELL the AzBox what STORED position index number to use.

Using the remote to set this doesn't work properly, as it should. Although there is a feature to assign this index in this fashion (you need to bypass the "assign position automatically" and save/store it that way), but like many editing functions conducted via the remote, it does not seem to register correctly or at all.

Try to play around with the three editing programs and make it work without using the remote. Any and all editing should NOT be done with the remote. I know that it should not be this way with a $400 machine, but alas it is... So, try it using JUST the editors that are available.

Thanks Radar I have those 3 programs ie: MaZEdit/AZEdit/ACC but I'm not sure how they would help here, but I'll review them in your Guide.

No, on the AzBox itself. In the DiSEqC 1.2 options, once you select "save" in the command mode field, you will see another field appear below which has "Auto" selected by default. Go on that field and use the left or right arrow to chose the desired position and press OK on the remote to save.

It Works - It Works - Problem Resolved:
Thank you very much pwrsurge. It worked like a charm exactly as you described. It's also great that you can use the AZBox Remote Control to solve this problem. I had thought that there was no way to fix this problem ie like it was imbeded in the software!! I notice that there is room for up to 125 Satellites to store on the VBox although I think the VBox III is limited to approx 99 Positions. Thanks again.
