This is one of the reasons why I think Europe should press forward with their $1B fine against Intel for monopolistic behavior. Better yet, double the fine.

I believe there is just one difference between Intel and Microsoft - the former was run by people smart enough to know when to cut a deal with the DOJ.

I believe this is a sign that the marketing guys take over at Intel.
The first clear sign of it was when Pat Gelsinger left the company.

With the smart generation of Grove and Barret gone, I think Intel has a good chance to repeat Microsoft fate.
And just like Microsoft, they will have nobody but themselves to blame...

And since it looks like the late arrival of the HDCP support on HTPCs was Intel's doing, I hope whatever the outcome, they will never be in a position to make this happen again...
