I'm not sure why people think the job of Knicks President is such a bad one. Isiah was shown more patience and given more chances than any President/GM/Coach/Dope I've ever seen. Considering how he ran the franchise, that's saying a lot.
The problem with the Knicks under Isiah Thomas was Isiah Thomas, and he's no longer a factor.
In my opinion Dolan also had way to long a leash for Glen Sather, and his stewardship of the Rangers. I was on dbsforums for years calling for the ouster of the Edmonton Genius, thinking the game had passed him by.
Well, I was wrong. Sather has built a solid team of young players and sprinkled in some good free agent signings, and he was more patient with Tom Renney than I was. I was wrong on that too, and right now I'm glad we have both Sather and Renney.
I have a feeling for better or worse both Walsh and D'Antoni will be given lots of time to right the Knicks, and get them out of the hole Isian put them in.
