I have receiver Directv D12 -100
service Desconect
my question:
Can I put a valid card in the receiver? will it work?Can I put a valid card in the receiver? will it work?
what should I do?
keeps popping up wrong card.
Can someone help me?

Sounds like you answered your own question ...

When you activate service, the card is married to the recvr, if you put it in a different recvr it will say "Wrong AC " or something like that.
 
but with a good card in hand there is nothing that can be done?

Where did the good card you refer to come from? On VERY rare occasions the access card department will let you do what you want.
 
Your neighbor would have to activate that receiver on their account for it to work (new card). The card is married to the original receiver.

Correct ...
And THAT is called "Account Stacking" which is frowned on and illegal.

OP,
If the recvr is no longer active, the A/C in no longer Valid.
