CS 5000 CW Nets Again

I've acquired a CS 5000 and am trying to enter the CW nets.I have followed Iceburgs solution faithfully,trying about 10x's,but no go..At step #3 I entered 3720 and exit,however when I go to channel edit,I can still see EWTN's freq.( 3920) 26000 on the right hand side and I think it should read CW's freq. 3720..This I think is the problem..It's not saving CW 's freq.when going to channel edit..I go ahead and enter the VAP's anyway,but end up with a black screen.I do a info check on the black screen and it says ..Freq. 3920..26000..V-101..A-102..PCR..101..Other than that..it's a nice little box..I 'm using the latest firmware of Sept/09..004..Maybe that's the problem..Any idea's from anyone would be appreciated..Thanks.

I think its that "software" because sometimes when I delete a TP it wont delete the channels (the legit factory software always deletes the channels with it)

so when you change the TP from 3920 to 3720 after you change the pids you get a black screen?

so you scan in EWTN
then change the pids
then change the TP info in manual scan (dont scan...just save)
and you get a black screen still?

Yes,that is correct..I followed ur 8 steps exactly...I think the only way to find the problem is someone else with 004 firm. to try it..Thanks Iceburg

lemme try it and see what happens...I have a receiver that has .03 in it...its not upgraded to .04

do you know if it does the same thing on .03?

version 0.03 works...just tried it

one thing I noticed is to add them on audio pid its 5 digits so you have to log it as
00102

if you go 0102 it takes it as 01020

but version 0.03 works fine

I don't know..I've only tried the .04..Another thing I noticed with .004 is when I do a Bind Scan,the scanning starts at 4.2GHz and scans backwards to 3.7GHz..just a minor bug..

nah thats normal...does it on every receiver I own

the receiver technically scans 950-2150 and with C-Band to figure out the frequency you take the IF freq from 5150...whereas on KU & DBS you add it to the LNB LO (10750, 11250)

so 5150-950=4200

Thought perhaps it was a bug...my vs ultra and merc 2 start at the bottom( 3.4-4.2) and work upward..no big prob anyway.....If the 003 works for you,then I'll load it.Don't think I'll miss too much going with the 003 ver.

all .04 did was fix an issue with the DBS sats

bug fix when using DBS LNB blind scan end frequency was low

when you blind scan, it says range of 12200-12200 instead of 12200-12700 on .03

couriosity got the best of me tonite..put 003 and still no go..I'm ready to give up..here's what it looks like in channels edit on right hand side of screen

SAT- 91.0W Galaxy
TP- 3.920-H- 26.000
CH- CW

Go to be doing something out of sequence..but followed steps very close several times..

weird....mine shows properly

scan 3920 TP
edit the pids on the 1st 3 channels to CW pids (101,102,101.....201,201,201....301,302,301) and save
change the TP freq to 3720 and exit out

thats really all ya gotta do...

So after you edit the pids and save,WHERE exactly do you change the TP freq. to 3720 and exit out.?? Thanks.

dish setup--manual scan
find the TP with 3920 on it and start typing in 3720. It will say "add or edit" and select edit
edit the TP and hit exit to save (if you hit "OK" it will rescan)

I did edit 3920 to 3720 in manual scan,however when I hit exit,I see the tp go back to 3920..it's like it won't save 3720??? should I try to save it instead of edit??

Just a note..I believe ur using .03 firm. I'm using .04. I will install .03 tomorrow and give it a go..off to work shortly..

That is where the problem is on this box..when I edit the TP for 3720( in manual scan) and exit ,it does not ask me "do you want to save"..it reverts back to 3920( still in manual scan),the ETWN freq. I hit exit again and it just goes to the ewtn channel..So, if I want to watch any programming on CW ,I'll have to catch it on the G16 mux..BTW ,this is the .03 version...I will keep my eyes open for another cs 5k box..has a good and quick scan along with the ac3 audio..Iceberg..thanks for all ur help..
