I have been fooling with AMC-1 for weeks and can't get COZI . NBC channels lock around 50 on my sathero 500g. 11840 will not lock but jumps from 50 to 60. When I came in and scanned I didn't get 11840 on my microhd either. I added the channel and it shows no service. Any suggestions?

COZI TV's transponder has an oddball skew which is the opposite of the normal skew.
You have to turn the LNB in its holder in the opposite direction about 10°.
Search COZI on this site, there is plenty of info about it.

I turned the skew back and got lock on 11840. I came in and scanned and it still doesn't show. Guess I'm done for today. To hot

You need a larger dish for that channel, I can't keep it locked in mid-Michigan with anything less than a 1.2 meter dish which is what I am using.

Theoretically the issue will be cured in about a month to month and one-half. I don't recall where I saw the thread, I think it was here, but the new satellite is supposed to go active in August and AMC1 will be retired or repurposed. Now, that is not carved in stone anywhere.

I get it off and on with my 90cm. But, since it is available on C band, I have quit obsessing over it. I do still check it on Ku just to see if I'm getting it or not. it is known for being difficult, so don't get to discouraged.

At the same time I find the Loch Ness monster hiding in my pool......

I get Cozi on 103 with no trouble at all on an old Primestar 84e dish.

I just looked at the coverage map on Lyngsat for 103w, where I live I get a bit better signal than some areas of the country, looks like the southeastern U.S. Gets the strongest signal. If I still lived in Northern Minnesota I would need a much bigger Dish than I need here in Southern California.

Got it here in Texas at 87W 8953 V 4164 on my 6' solid, but only 10% SQ. Looks good though. Scanned in as FETV.

Depending on where you live, COZI on 103w Ku band can be hard to get on a smaller Ku dish, where I live it comes in easy on my old 1 meter wide primestar 84e and my Amiko Mini HD SE shows a 75 quality, with my 1.2 meter Geosat Pro dish I get 85 quality. I use Avenger PLL LNBFs and rotate the skew 26 degrees from what would be used on other Satellites.

Welcome BigRyan!:welcome FETV runs a lot of COZI programming and also displays the COZI logo when doing so. It's very easy to think it's COZI since it's on same sat, same frequency (video, audio PIDs for FETV are 100, 101 while video, audio PIDs for COZI are 700, 701).:)

I read somewhere that they are changing the skew to normal on or about the 23rd or 24th.
I am so looking forward to this.. :)

Oh right, SES-3. Apparently they are parked next to each other for the upcoming handoff. I wish they would just get on with it already !!

Location too,COZI booms in here in So. california, the odd ball skew screws things up for people with a motor.
