The Boilermaker State (#19)
Last night the Colorado-Tampa hockey game was on the I ON network, as I posted. When I checked the I ON network feeds there was regular programing on all evening. On the I ON mux they have four feed channels, #s 4, 8, 9, and 12. This game was on feed 8. My question is, if the game was on the feed 8 channel and the network channels had regular programing on, who and where was this game being beamed to? On the NBC, CBS and ABC if a special feed is found it will be on the network feed at the same time. Just wondering.

My guess is it's for the same Tampa Station that has the Baseball games and there may be a small regional Network for the Lightning involved? It's definately on the same TP...

I got to thinking the same thing after I posted the question.

As usual Al,..... you are right!!!!!

Some ION broadcast local and regional professional sports on their stations; an example of this is the Tampa Bay Rays' baseball games on local affiliate WXPX.

The hockey game was on the same feed channel as the Devil Rays (I guess now they are just the RAYS) games. I keep it stored it so I can watch the Yankees when they are in Tampa.

yep. Thats for WXPX. Also for the Rays games there are OTA stations besides them that show it (WBIF on C-Band is one of them) so thats how they get the feed.
The network feeds are for all other Pax/Ion stations

The other feeds on there do have some other programming. They'll pick up some religious programming (usually Shepherds chapel off G4 16) for replays later.
