I think it's highly likely now that the October 1st deadline is not going to be met...

Maybe they wanted to release the software in the other receivers first before releasing the 721 software to see if there were any problems with the new Dishpoint screen. They will have to release the software for the 721 in October seeing that it does have SuperDish support (unless they choose to release it with SuperDish support and not the other new features).
