Could Dish have LIL HDTV before DIRECTV?

I think it would be more likely that they would try MVDSS for internet service bundling rather than HDTV. Better to compete with cable.

Everyone should remember,E* and V* do not own all the MVDSS spectrum

Bruce E. Fox has 24 areas
Cass Cable has 2
MDS Operations has 60
MVD has 10
Satellite Receivers,INC has 3
South.Com(E*) has 37
DTV(Dolen) has 46

and a few other companies has a few also, and the FCC has 22 areas that no one wanted.

It is true that they(South.com and DTV)has the biggest area, but what happens if you live in say Greensboro,Tulsa,Grand Rapids,
Oklahoma City,Birmingham,Austin, etc, etc that they do not have the rights to.

You raise a good point, but this really doesn't differ from the way LIL's work now. Some markets just don't have all their channels, for whatever reason. Distants will be an option for a while (hopefully).
