Got a coupon for $500 off ($999.99 after coupon) a Sceptre 37" LCD HDTV from Costco. The only one listed on their website is this model (Costco Item # 896288 at $1499.99):

http://www.sceptre.com/Products/LCD/Specifications/spec_X37SV-Naga.htm

However, its 37" widescreen 1080p LCD with 1920x1080 resolution. The coupon says 1366x768 resolution w/ HDMI. The coupon even says a different item number (195219).

Any thoughts if this is the same TV, or is there a cheaper model that is for sale?

Thanks,
-John

I almost bit on the 37" 1080P model in April for $1499, if it is the same model for $999, I would not hesitate one moment to pick it up.

It came in the COSTCO Member Passport to Savigs Summer 2006 booklet. Gets mailed to customers.

Looks like I will have to pick one up if it really is that model. :)

They were passing these out at the door at our Costco in Albuquerque; this was the first time I didn't get one in the mail.

It is explained in here

Yes, Sceptre is launching a new version under the promotion in August 21-27
2006 Costco's Item 195219. Please note the resolution of the product will be
1366x768.

The new unit will allow us to reach customer that want a 37" TV LCD, but are
not concerned with the resolution. The spec information will be posted on
line at Costco.com, once the promotion starts.

Well, if thats the case, its clearly false advertising as it's not $500 off.
If so, I will remove Costco from my list of stores I shop at.

I picked up my Passport today at Costco and it is $999 for the 37" with 1366x768 resolution. Here's the Costco link for this set, they say the current $1299 price includes $200 off, so the coupon is not false, it is $500 off, just not the 1080p version.

That's not the same one. It's a Viewsonic, not Sceptre brand.
