Uhm, are you talking about 50mbps for video by itself?
Max rate for encoder in VBR mode for 4:2:2 SD is 45mpbs. I am wondering what tools you used to get the info out of the stream?
Remember, you have a 50mbps stream does not mean you will get 50mbps video. There are other info in the stream that share the bandwidth. Or even worse, they insert null package in the stream. I have seen SCPC 10mbps video runing in 40mpbs mux. Uplinker sometimes pays big buck leasing transpoder but miscofigure their encoder to waist the bandwidth they lease.

15megabit/sec or 15megabyte/sec ?

I had a 50megabit/sec feed I was watching on the weekend (streaming from dreambox). it was 4/2/2 but is 4/2/2 really that much bigger then 4/2/0 ?

it was a 50mbps stream, not just video sorry.

I just recorded about 2min of the stream with my dreambox and divided the filesize but the length in seconds and times that by 8 to get bits vs bytes / sec

anyone have a good program for giving these little timbits of info like video stream rate, what audio channels are recorded in the stream and what type. resolution, encoding type etc ?

I'd like to know where you found a 35000+ SR video feed.

There'a a 45000 SR on IA6 ku (I think, but it's somewhere). Of course all I can do is pick it up in a scan. I haven't been able to capture it. CBS HD uses 32364 SR on there HD and also for the CW HD, both on IA6 C-band.

TSREader is an excellent program for PCI card, that will shows you how the video/audio and other stuff share the bandwidth.

CBS HD distribution mux run at 45mbps. Video runs from 29-33mbps. The rest is for audio and other things.
I have not seen a qpsk at SR 45000 on G26.

If you can scan it, it's qpsk...:) I watch/record a 8psk Trellis mux at 56mbps every night. Can't tell what it is though...
Oh, you are talking about the Data IP mux on Ku G26. Yes, it's been there once in a while, not a video feed.

I don't know if it was QPSK or not. I do know there was a signal there at one time, that scanned with a SR 45000. I have No idea what it was being used for. I just looked into my TP list on my Pansat for IA6 and it's not showing a signal at present. And it's stored in my Pansat, so I know it was there at one time or another. Since there's no current signal, I guess it's OK to post what it used to be: 11793 H. If it's not OK, then please delete this.

it's hughesnet data mux.

I just got through with a scan on IA6, and this 45000 SR is on it right now. If you've never seen one, now's your chance. Of course I can't capture it, but maybe you can. I sure would like to know what it is?
