Max rate for encoder in VBR mode for 4:2:2 SD is 45mpbs. I am wondering what tools you used to get the info out of the stream?
Remember, you have a 50mbps stream does not mean you will get 50mbps video. There are other info in the stream that share the bandwidth. Or even worse, they insert null package in the stream. I have seen SCPC 10mbps video runing in 40mpbs mux. Uplinker sometimes pays big buck leasing transpoder but miscofigure their encoder to waist the bandwidth they lease.

15megabit/sec or 15megabyte/sec ?
I had a 50megabit/sec feed I was watching on the weekend (streaming from dreambox). it was 4/2/2 but is 4/2/2 really that much bigger then 4/2/0 ?
