coolsat 6100 vs sonicview 4000

sonic view has a faster processor, but coolsat has 5yr warranty, and I think, a better company reputation. I don't own one of either, but I'd go for the coolsat in a snap.

Having had the Sonicview 4000 and the coolsat 7000 (which is supposed to be a cousin of the 6100), I would choose the Sonicview 4000 hands down. After having about 10 different kinds of FTA receivers, so far its in second behind the Coolsat 5000/6000. Much better blind scan on the Sonicview than the Coolsat, the sonicview is supported by channelmaster, and the new Coolsat is NOT the same group that the old ones were made by, so its a different beast. And that's not a good thing. :(

Soon I will be needing another blind scan receiver, and if I can't score another Coolsat 5000/6000, I am thinking strongly about the Sonicview again, I wish I would have never gotten rid of mine. :)

We have a favorable review of the Visionsat IV-200 here on the forum.
It's about the same price, and can record with an external USB hard drive.
Perhaps other users will comment on it.

The Coolsat models seem to be built by a different supplier, so I don't think the company's good reputation for their old receivers necessarily flows forward.
Time will tell. And I hope it works out well.
Their long warranty seems a plus.

What is it exactly are you looking for in a receiver?

Well...I am having a viewsat platinum. It has mean great. But it doesn't have a blindscan function nor USB plug-in. Therefore, I'd like tp have another unit a little better. I heard Coolsat is easier to catch the signal from IA5.
I am a newbie. I tried to read as many as I can but some info are not very clear for me. Therefore, any expert advice would be appreciated.
