Well Eastern Arc may have a lower accepted range for activation according to Dish than western arc.
But my guess is overall it's a weaker arc.
Which is why we experienced more rain fade when we switched over years ago.
I've also seen many others report Western arc with exception the 129 to be less rain fade prone.

I've had a lot of experience with both arcs and if you compare the same types of transmissions on either arc they are almost identical. If you look at the signal levels on 129, which is where most of the WA HD comes from, you'll see what I mean. SD MPEG2 is always going to be a stronger signal than HD MPEG4.
