When I moved last year with DishMover I told the Indian guy that I wanted to pay the 99 bucks and not sign a 2 year deal. When the local installer guy came he was told to make me sign the contract. If I decide to cancel and switch to a competitor in Feb when prices are going to be going up in a deflationary economy, will Dish try to make me pay the cancellation fee?

I really don't want to hire a lawyer though there are two of the best class action guys in my area.

Why did you sign the contract? Every contract has a place for either the 24 month commitment or the no commitment. This is not Dish's fault, it is the local installers fault.

Yes! If it was actually a 24 month contract that you signed, then you get to pay the cancellation fee.
You do understand that all pay tv companies will be raise their rates, right?

Did dish charge you the 99.00? If so you arent under contract, if you didnt pay the 99, you are under contract.
