connecting cable lengh

I need to move my 522 away from my TV. I am looking for info regarding what is the optimum / maximum length I can move with out losing any signal quality. Right now I just connected using coaxial cable. But I am thinking of using either s-video or component cables. I tried to search for this info, but always I am seeing a qualitative answer ie., they say with distance you might lose signal quality. I may need to move at least 12 feet away from my TV. Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

12 feet is an OK distance. Mine is farther than that and it works fine. There is a little PQ loss due to mine going thru 2 splitters before getting back to the other TV. I am using coaxial though.

12 feet is not a problem for s-video. I have several 25 foot s-video cables in my system without any noticeable loss in picture quality.
