Congratulations again to Number 92 for a "teachable moment..."

I knew what I was seeing with the Nixie Tubes, but didn't realize what they were until this thread. So having both a "realization and nerd" moment (which is exactly what I told my wife as I'm fast forwarding through the VHS I have of this movie), I realized this is what I was what I had wondered about in '2001: A Space Odyssey'...

The "clock" (altimeter?) on the right side of the screen. Pretty sure these are Nixie Tubes...


Then the next scene where the Moon Bus lands.


So after 20-plus years of knowing what I saw, but not what it was - End of nerd moment...
