Compare TiVo to Hr21 or the Hr20

Since TiVo and Direct are back in bed together,
I would like to hear a comparison between the two receivers. Response wise, is TiVo better than the Hr series. What about features, how different??

I have heard that the TiVo is much closer to the Dish Vip series, is that true??

My understanding is that Direct will combine thier technology with TiVO to make one hell of a box.

New wrinkle, speculation from some is that the monthly fee for a Tivo box would be a little higher.

As far as Im concerned, the HR20 does just fine for its current cost.

I may consider a $99 or $199 upgrade fee for the Tivo, but Im not incurring an extra fee monthly for it.


I cant compare too much. Ive had a SD series 2 and a HR10-250, neither of which impressed me much.

The HR20 media share and one touch recording is all I need. Prioritizer works fine too. What else do you need a DVR to do?

I didn't even think of the monthly dvr fee. I know that TiVo fee is much higher. I wonder with BOTH Direct and TiVo involved, would Direct keep the fee the same as the HRs and probably charge more for the TiVo box itself??
