Thanks. Now I understand clearly. RandallA, what does the duplexer do and how does it work?

Diplexers combine satellite signal and VHF/UHF/CATV signals into one cable. You need a pair of diplexers to make it work, one at the point where you combine the signals and the other at the other end to split the signals.

Update:

As of today, I am no longer a Comcast customer. I have had Dish Network now for a week and now have Qwest phone/internet. Turned in my Comcast equipment today!
